Windward Science and Robotics

Windward Science and Robotics offers a range of robotics programs for kids from 6 through high school.  Our robotics programs are designed to be conducted in your club or school facility.  We can provide a complete package including all equipment, coaches and team mentors to put your program into operation quickly.  Give us a call and we will custom tailor a program or activity to fit your specific needs.

For our Robotics programs, Windward Science and Robotics has teamed with FIRST, one of the preeminent supporters of robotics for kids.   FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a public charity dedicated to helping kids find the fun and excitement of science and technology.

Windward Science and Robotics offers Robotics programs suitable for kids from age 6 through high school.  Each program:

* Entices kids to think like scientists and      engineers

* Provides a fun, creative, hands-on learning experience

* Teaches kids to experiment and overcome obstacles

* Builds self-esteem and confidence

* Inspires kids to participate in science and technology

Our core robotics programs is FIRST LEGO League (FLL).  FLL is an exciting and fun international robotics program that ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science, and technology in kids ages 9 to 14.

Each year FLL teams embark on an adventurous Challenge based on current, real-world issues. Guided by a team coach and assisted by mentors, the kids:

* Research and solve a real-world problem based on the Challenge theme

* Present their research and solutions

* Build an autonomous robot using engineering concepts

Whether it is by creativity, technology, or research, Windward Science and Robotics programs dare kids to test, explore, expand, or completely change thoughts and approaches for different challenges each year.

Robotics Team (Team Amazon)

We are looking for motivated ladies who are willing to take up their school or club banner and qualify to compete in the annual First Lego League Robotics Challenge.  This team is a hands-on opportunity to learn and master the concepts of robotics and then apply your knowledge in solving a robotics problem in the competition.   Students will be organized into squads of 10 and work as a team to learn and compete.  Participation will require students to perform research and preparation outside of scheduled team meetings.  So come prepared to work hard and get a jump-start into the fascinating world of robots.  Team agenda is tied to science curriculum and will include age/grade appropriate mathematics and technology.

Robotics Team (Team Hercules)
